Mathew’s Experience

Mathew’s athletic journey started when he was just a child, participating in various sports such as football, cricket, and swimming. As he grew older, he developed a love for running and cycling, and he has since competed in numerous ultramarathons, triathlons, and other endurance events.

Mathew holds a certification as a personal trainer, allowing him to help others achieve their fitness goals. He specialises in creating customised training programs, combining strength and conditioning exercises with running-specific drills to improve performance and reduce the risk of injury.

An Accomplished Athlete

Mathew’s endurance event resume is nothing short of impressive. He has completed several 100km+ races and 1000km+ triathlons. He has also tackled some fundraising endurance events, such as “everesting” an office staircase, which he describes as “the most brutal thing I’ve ever done” and 30 consecutive days of the popular Crossfit workout “Murph”.

A Passionate Advocate for Community

Despite his impressive accomplishments as an athlete, Mathew is most passionate about building a community of like-minded individuals who share his love for ultra running. Through Ultramarathon Central and through sister site The Trail Guru, he hopes to provide platforms where runners and trail enthusiasts can come together to share their experiences, learn from each other, and support one another.

Mathews favourite quote is:

“Not with that attitude”

Something he likes to bring up when people say they cannot do something.
